Where people and opportunities meet
Every day, people are finding easy ways to make meaningful, rewarding improvements in the community through the Volunteer Center.
Volunteers feed the homeless, visit the elderly, build homes, restore our environment, tutor children, care for abandoned pets, and much more.
The Volunteer Center connects over 4,000 volunteers a year with opportunities to match their schedules and interests. Volunteers select from one-time, group-based volunteering, to longer-term opportunities, to opportunities for volunteer leadership.
They choose from a variety of opportunities at different non-profits, schools and government agencies. They volunteer alone, with family and friends, or with co-workers.

Impact
According to a three-year study done by the Corporation for National and Community Service, people in the Midwest spend 45 hours per year volunteering. This year, the Volunteer Center will refer more than 4,000 youths and adults to volunteer activities. That’s $3,247,200 in volunteer time!
The Volunteer Center connects the things you no longer need or want to the needs of others. In 2006, the estimated value of these donated goods exceeded $60,000!
